The HL21 is powered by a AA battery (NiMh, Alkaline, Lithium) and maintains constant brightness through in three different brightness levels and a special mode through its digitally regulated output. The XP-E R2 LED module from Cree reaches a brightness of up to 97 lumens and has a range of approximately 90 m. It is also very long living with a lifespan of approximately 50 000 operating hours.
